The pavilion has room for 100 persons and is ideal for weddings. Hotel Arnbjerg is situated in Varde. If you go far enough back in history Arnbjerg - with its 13 metres - was highly elevated above the river Varde Aa. Therefore it is not strange that the German general Wallensteins soldiers built a fieldwork on the hill in 1627 during the Thirty Years War. Thus they could control the town which was a lively commercial centre with trade on the river and onwards to the North Sea. This was the place where the town council built the Arnbjerg Pavilion in 1889 because it wished to prevent the inhabitants in Varde from going to Esbjerg to enjoy themselves. The area became a public park and actually the inhabitants of Varde have since then made frequent use of this breathing hole as a natural meeting place. Besides the park you also find a museum- a memorial grove- an open-air scene as well as a mini town. In 1989 the place was extended with a wing of rooms and the pavilion became Hotel Arnbjerg whose guests can enjoy the lovely view of the park - and at the same time the hotel is close to the shops of the town and only half an hours drive to the North Sea. The hotel has recently been renovated with due respect for the old pavilion style. When you have enjoyed the delicacies of Brasseriet you can sit on the large terrace or go for a walk in the park. The open-sandwich menu card naturally comprises dried and salted dab fish with tartar sauce and rye breed and in the evening there is a 6-course gourmet menu,
