In Yarmouthport on the North Shore of Cape Cod on a street lined with stately trees stands the Colonial House Inn. Here the charm of old Cape Cod has been carefully preserved and the tradition of gracious dining and hospitality carried forward. In 1988 the Inn was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of the interior. Each of the large guest rooms is individually decorated and furnished with antiques. Each room has its own private bath and a charming view of our grounds and the adjacent historic homes. Located on Historic Old Kings Highway The Colonial House Inn was constructed in the 1730s. The original structure was a two story Federal style building with a hip roof built by the Josiah Ryder family. Shortly after it was acquired by Captain Joseph Eldrige and for the next 100 years was known as the Eldrige House. The Colonial House Inn features Traditional New England cuisine prepared with a Continental flair and is open year round seven days a week for luncheon and dinner. Our renovated carriage house allows us to meet the most current business day demands in the setting of a historic landmark. In 1986 we completed the Hugh S. Clark Conference Center and the adjacent atrium. Included within are a comfortable lounge dance floor and heated indoor swimming pool. The Inn has established a reputation as a unique site for business meetings. We successfully combine the services and facilities of the larger convention destinations with the personalized attention that you would expect from a Cape Cod establishment.
