El Cortijo Alto de Cariatiz is much more than a rural hotel. It's very special situation at the foot of Cariatiz's reef gives us a splendid view of the valley and mountains. This spectacular scenery makes the spirit dream and brings peace. The whole place is made for rest, taking care of your mind and body. El Cortijo Alto is built like a traditional cortijada, a central farmhouse surrounded by smaller bungalows called cortijos. For the moment, seven are available, they all have a bedroom, a bathroom and a lounge, as well as a private covered terrace from which you can admire the views and let the silence drift to your soul!The cortijada as well as the cortijos, have all been decorated by the prestigious company Becara, to a very high standard, which adds a special touch to it all. El Cortijo Alto has a restaurant ( breakfast, lunch, dinner ) presenting good quality typical cooking, a charming little bar, a swimming pool surrounded by nature, and a library with a nice collection of art books, novels etc. which you can borrow as well as a computer that you are most welcome to use, to access the internet. For those who wish to have fun, the hotel has an open air bar which is situated on a unique circle entirely made of stone squares ( farmers used to work the wheat helped by mules on these ). From here you will admire the breathtaking views. This is one of the few places in Europe where you can see karsts, a wonderful spot to have a drink, listen to music or simply enjoy the sunset on this magical reef. Coming from Madrid, take exit number 514-Sorbas Tabernas to address the diversion of Cariatiz. Coming from taking out 513 Almeria Sorbas-TAVERNS direction to divert Cariatiz. We continue to address the aliases and once there, take the first turn to the right (short uphill) from the plaza (a signal indicating a museum to get to it). We colamos between the two houses that front and we'll just go up the hill and then turn left (downhill) to reach the boarding Cortijo. When it comes to Cortijo Alto, the hotel has free parking with 50 spaces. It is located down at the entrance to the farm. However, you can climb up to the farmhouse by car and even the main cortijitos for the receipt and leave your luggage. From the parking there is access to stairs leading to the cottages.
