Hotel Dalgas is situated in the middle of the Jutland moors in the railway town Brande. Years ago Brande was actually known in most of the world for its gable paintings. Many of them are still here and you can enjoy them while taking a walk in the streets. In Brande the two Jutland diagonal railway lines crossed each other back in time. Today the locomotives are gone but the rustic surroundings still prevail in the large engine-shed which now houses a fantastic culture and conference centre. The modern family-owned Hotel Dalgas is situated in Brand. Its modern and informal atmosphere appeals to everybody who needs a break from the rush and bustle of everyday life. Since 1981 the hotel has been owned by Marianne and Arne Andersen and during their ownership the hotel has been turned into a totally modern hotel with the facilities needed by the guests of today. In the cosy restaurant you can choose between the 3-course menu of the month- eat a la carte or enjoy a gourmet menu adapted to the ingredients of the season. The cafe of the hotel is called Cafe Albert and here they serve lunch dishes- light courses- vegetarian courses and desserts. In the years around the 2nd World War Brande was the centre of a considerable brown coal industry. Because of this the hotel is a fine starting point for a trip to the old brown coal fields which today is a remarkable nature area. You could also go for a walk in the approx. 4.000 ha. preserved forest and moor areas in Harrild Hede.
