Tsurumaki Onsen Jinya Ryokan is a traditional Japanese garden inn which has preserved the delicate natural beauty of Japan to this day. In room equipped; TV, telephone, kettle, tea, private air conditioning toilet, LAN internet cable connection*(several rooms have exception), no private shower/bath in the Japanese room (Onsen is available). In room amenities includes; soap, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrush, razor, shower cap, comb, hair brush, towels, bathrobe, and slippers. The Tsurumaki hot water, welling up from the depths under the Tanzawa mountain massif, is renowned to be one of the world's foremost calcium-rich hot springs. Since ancient time it has been known that, through drinking the highly - ionized water, people can gain relief from rheumatic ailments, neuralgic pains, traumatic injuries and gastrointestinal ailments. Hayao Miyazaki - the master of Japanese animation - spent a lot of his childhood at this ryokan, and his memories of that time had a significant influence on his films; Tonari no Totoro; (My Neighbor Totoro) and; Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi; (Spirited Away). The camphor tree depicted in Tonari no Totoro was based upon the image of Totoro no Ki, which can be seen in our garden.
