Muthaiga Safari Camp is located in the Olderkesey area, the camp can be reached through the Keekorock airstrip by flights from Nairobi. It’s a 65 acres private concession equipped with an airstrip for private flights. The landscape is extremely charming with luxuriant vegetation, sweet slopes and  grassy hills. 1600 meters high, malaria free with no need for vaccination. All kinds of animals, elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, lions and wildebeests live undisturbed following the rhythm of nature. The camp is composed of seven tents and two villas respectively 1850 and 220 sq. m., with luxury furniture and personal butler. The tents with king size beds and two family tents with king size/twin beds are built amongst the trees ensuring privacy and each has a veranda with a spectacular view.  All the tents are individually styled and have en suite bathrooms, with piped hot water and flushing toilet, electricity and a veranda set with a table and chairs. Comfortable beds are made up with feather duvets as it can be chilly in the Mara at night.  Guests can enjoy themselves with Game driving, night game driving, walking safari with either a bush breakfast or lunch, hill top sun-downers, bush camping, day fishing trips at Lake Victoria, course fishing in the local Sand River, cultural community visits and scenic flight over the Maasai Mara flying just 50 feet above the migrating herds. Mediterranean food made of savoury, homely made dishes all served with a great variety of vegetables. Desserts are ‘crème caramel’, ‘tiramisu’, creams, ice creams and cakes accompanied with good Italian, South African and French wines. For those who like it, the camp life starts at dawn: the first safari beats the time. Guests can wake up with a nice cup of coffee or a cup of tea. Later on, they will find a rich buffet with cakes, croissants, sandwiches, toasts, cornflakes and can order coffee, tea, chocolate, juice fruit and fresh fruit. At one o’clock p.m. lunch is served. Guests can order a brunch in the savannah. Tea time at five o’clock is a ritual with cakes expressly made and fancy cakes. If you wish, you can go for a safari at dusk, exactly when the lion starts hunting. The aperitif with ‘pizzette’, ‘samosa’ and ‘bruschette’ wine and beer is served around the fire or in the large verandas outside. Dinner is generally served at eight thirty p.m. at the candlelight with two first courses, two second courses, several side dishes, dessert. Coffee or spirits are served around the fire, in the starlight. Muthaiga Safari Camp is around a 45 minute flight from Nairobi to our local airstrips where guests will be met by the guides and driven to Camp. A private charter from Jomo Kenyata International Airport or Nairobi Wilson Airport to the property's private airstrip brings guests to within a 20 minute drive of Camp. A scheduled flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Keekerok is a 45 minute drive to Camp. Please note that due to the size of the planes a 15kg luggage allowance may apply.
