Situated between the Aravali and the Vindhya mountain ranges, visitors will discover Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambore (India) set on 20 acres of landscaped gardens, lakes and fountains. The resort's main building recreates the glory of a royal hunting palace with hand-painted, gilded frescoes,murals of elephants and peacocks. Dining choices are varied. The hotel's Dining Room and Inner Courtyard specializes in Asian and continental cuisine: Indian kebabs, curries, game food, rustic stews, pot roasts and homemade ice creams. Aristocracy from the British Raj would feel at home in the hotel's bar - where guests can enjoy cigars, champagne, sparkling wines - and Scotch malts. Air-conditioned luxury tents are set among lemon and mango trees by a carp-filled lake. Each of the 25 luxury tents are 790 square feet in size. All have private gardens and an outside sun-deck. The tents feature four-poster king beds, freestanding rolltop baths and separate showers. All the tents have wooden floors and embroidered interior canopies. Guests will find a DVD player and mini bar in each tent.
