Classification: 3 Star Hotel

This Ostravice hotel is an excellent choice for your Moravia travel. A 3 star Beskydy hotel, the Hotel Ondras has a gorgeous location just outside the summer holiday resort of Ostravice, under the Beskydy Mountains, in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, near the border with Slovakia. The Hotel Ondras is a large mountain hotel that has been recently renovated. The hotel’s rustic restaurant serves traditional Czech cuisine, specializing in meats cooked on the large grill (nicknamed the Golem); a local beer called Radegast is the beverage of choice. In summer, guests can enjoy their meals on the large terrace with views of the mountains. The hotel also includes a sauna, a billiards table, and a volleyball court. Guests at the Hotel Ondras are invited to use the facilities at the Hotel Sepetna next door: a heated swimming pool, a children’s pool, a children’s play area, a climbing wall, a basketball court, and a tennis court with artificial grass. The Hotel Ondras is located inside a national park called the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area (Chranena krajinna oblast Beskydy in Czech, abbreviated as CHKO Beskydy). It is the largest Landscape Protected Area in the Czech Republic, known for its wildlife, primeval forests, and scenic mountain villages. Winter sports are popular in the area, especially skiing on the gentle slopes surrounding the hotel. The nearest ski lift is within walking distance of the Hotel Ondras; larger ski areas are approx. a 20 minute drive away. The paths through the national park are excellent for hiking in the summer, especially the route to the village and pub at the top of Lysa Hora (Bald Mountain), at 1323 metres/4,341 feet above sea level. The hotel is approx. 39 km/24.2 miles south of the city of Ostrava.
