The Scandic Foresta is a beautiful hotel located in a spectacular setting beside Millesgarden. Nearly every room offers a jaw-dropping view of Stockholm's wonderful skyline which makes this hotel extremely desirable for those wishing to escape the city but feel connected nonetheless to everything that the Swedish capital has to offer. The Scandic Foresta is located just a few kilometres from Stockholm city centre in the beautiful leafy island suburb of Lidingo. The hotel is perched high up on the cliff overlooking much of the cities skyline as such many of the rooms are afforded some amazing views. Next door is the old home and now museum of the sculpture Carl Miles called Millesgarden. All standard rooms have recently been refurbished in a contemporary Scandinavian style using pale wood and natural materials. The rooms have spacious working areas, ambient lighting and large comfortable beds to make any length of stay enjoyable. The view from the bedroom window is either over the sculpture museum Millesgarden or the Varta port area, with the whole Stockholm skyline beyond. Each en-suite bathroom is fully tiled and stylishly designed. The hotel is well known for its restaurants. The most renowned is situated in the old section of the hotel near the top of the building. Its lofty location allows it to offer stunning views over Stockholm while the al la carte menu of contemporary international cuisine ensures a unique dining experience. Breakfast meanwhile is served in a spacious dining room in the newer section of the hotel. A beautiful and grand granite stoned tower provides host to the original section of the hotel. It is an imposing building which from a distance appears fortified due to the turrets that rise from the top. The newer section is constructed from brick and glass. It is a low rise building with limited architectural features other than its functionality and simplicity, yet it fits surprisingly well with the old section of the hotel. A large sweeping space greets the guest on arrival. Both to the left and right of the entrance are seating areas consisting of comfortable sofas and glass-topped coffee tables. To the rear is a semi-circled reception desk constructed of light wood while linked to the left is the hotel's small lobby bar. To the far right is a wide corridor heading to the rooms and restaurants. Two computers provide complimentary access to the internet.
