Situated right next to the Great Astrolabe Reef, the third largest and most unspoiled barrier reef in the world, Waisalima Beach Resort and Dive Centre is truly an undiscovered paradise, has magnificent sunsets and is in a great location to immerse yourself in local Fijian culture without the airbrushed feel of the Coral Coast area of Fiji, on Kadavu Island you can experience the real Fiji. Waisalima is in its very own secluded bay and is only a short boat ride from some of the most sought-after dive locations in the world. The Great Astrolabe Reef offers world class diving with a spectacular color display of countless species of fish and star-fish, coral snakes, sea turtles, sharks, wonderful hard and soft corals and truly unsurpassed marine diversity, in total there are over forty dive sites within close proximity to the resort. Coupled with this are some great activities including some of the best off-the-beach snorkeling you will find anywhere in the world, great fishing and the resort even has a few sea kayaks if you want to paddle around in the nearby mangroves at high tide. Some of the land-based eco-adventures include visiting the numerous nearby waterfalls to jump off the rope swing and have a quick dip, cultural tours to two local Fijian villages, various hikes around the tropical rainforests and bird watching of some of the endemic species of Kadavu Island including the Barking Dove and Kadavu Shining Parrot to name just a couple. Depending on the season there is also the opportunity to dive with the Southern Right Whales who migrate through Fiji on their way to their native breeding grounds in Tonga each year and you can also snorkel with the Manta Rays at Buliya which is only a twenty minute boat ride from the resort. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel.
